Gemotions

The hum of the refrigerator seemed to amplify the emptiness of the apartment. Michael rubbed his temples, a dull ache throbbing behind his eyes. Sleep had become a distant memory, replaced by a constant state of low-level disquiet. A strange hollowness had begun to take over his soul.

He found a bound manuscript tucked away in the bookshelf. He pulled it out, a tremor running through him as he saw the title: "The Perpetual Dawn." It was a novel, and the main character, was, without question, him. This character was struggling to keep moving, their spirit diminished. The author portrayed a weariness that felt bone-deep, a reflection of his own feelings.
